Luis Silva-Villar

Luis Silva-Villar, PhD, earned his Master of Arts in music and classical guitar from the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid and his licensure in Hispanic language and literature from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, as well as a Master of Arts in Spanish from the University of California Los Angeles. Silva-Villar went on to earn his PhD in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from UCLA as well. He teaches First-Year Spanish, Advanced Spanish Grammar, History and Culture of Spain, Spanish and the Nature of Language, among others. Silva-Villar's research interests include Spanish language and linguistics, Spanish in the U.S., language variation, language in the media, Spanish heritage speakers and foreign language education.
